Menu HOME GALLERIES ABOUT US BLOG VISIT TOURS SUPPORT OUR TEAM CONTACT Downtown Art Walk ABOUT US SUPPORT 2nd Thursday Art Walk To slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and to protect our patrons and staff, Art Walk has suspended all tours until further notice. Please visit our Blog page to read our latest Advisory. Stay In the loop Leave this field empty if you're human: FEATURED STORIES Meet our Galleries, Artists, and Partners. COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Advisory Please read our COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus) Advisory: This week, Governor Newsom and Mayor Garcetti announced a series of temporary restrictions to be placed on certain establishments… Spotlight: Dale Youngman When Dale Youngman saw the nascent growth of art advocacy in Downtown Los Angeles’ Historic Core in 2005, she saw an opportunity. It was a way to grow an art business on the back of her experience as a consultant and designer for a digital print production company. The timing seemed right. Spotlight: Robert Vargas It was a hot, dog-days-of-summer afternoon when I rolled out of Pershing Square subway station in Downtown Los Angeles and looked up to discover Angelus, the in-progress and reputed “largest mural in the world by one artist.” It was the rendezvous point for my first meeting with the artist himself, Robert Vargas. Spotlight: Renee Warren, REN Gallery Owning and running a contemporary art gallery is not for the fainthearted. For art gallery startups in particular, it can be a daunting test of survival. A love it or leave it commitment. That said, stalwarts like REN Gallery owner Renee Warren prove that success is possible with a passion for art… Spotlight: Gronk Chicano artist Gronk (né Glugio Nicandro) may have earned a reputation as mercurial, but he has also gained legendary status with his prolific practice as painter, theatrical set designer, performance artist, muralist, art collective co-founder, art activist, provocateur, and more. Spotlight: Art Meets Architecture Step into the Fine Arts Building in Downtown Los Angeles and you step back into an era when art and architecture merged with breathtaking panache. A landmark Romanesque Revival hidden gem, the building was constructed in 1926 to house the studios of local Downtown Los Angeles artists. Spotlight: Spring Arts Collective Spring Arts Tower has seen constant change since it was founded in 1915. A remarkable group of five artists – the Spring Arts Collective – have built a steadfast presence with their gallery/studio spaces on the building’s mezzanine. Spotlight: Martha De Perez Martha De Perez, art curator and pop-up exhibition organizer extraordinaire, has been volunteering her time to promote artists in and around Los Angeles for over a decade.
